On a walk in the park I saw several patches of irises flowering beautifully in the rock garden. They caught my eye. Here is my impression of them. I wanted to portray their lushness, the contrast between dark and light, the different hues of green and the opposites of hard but weathered stone, soft flowers and petals and stiff leaves.
